TBG Slimming Mission Day 42 - Mommies & Babies

Mother's Day used to be another excuse for me to go shopping, supposedly to buy presents for my Mom and Auntie, and a valid reason to book tables at fancy restaurants to pig out in style.

(L-R) Auntie, Mom & Me

However, this Mother's Day has a special meaning to me, not just because I am now a Mother myself, but because I finally am able to understand the kind of emotional hardships my Mother and Auntie had to go through to bring me up into a 'fine lady'.

My love, Baby Marco, 6 months and 3weeks old.

Looking at Baby Marco now, a kind of sweet bitter heartache brews within me, thinking about all the possibilities this child will one day grow up to be. I am sure my Mother and Auntie, whom I have always regarded as my second Mom, have had some kind of vision or hope for me when I was born.

Baby Matthew, 14 months old, the eldest grandson of the family.

Like how I am feeling now towards Baby Marco, I am sure they also did look forward to the day I grow and blossom into someone special, someone whom they can feel proud of.

Marquis, elder brother of the twins, 1 month old.

This Mother's Day, other than showing my gratitude towards them, I would also like to say this:

"Mom and Auntie, thank you for bringing me up and nurturing me to become who I am today. I will strive to pass on the knowledge, kindness, and love you have taught and shown me to the little ones to come. May your maternal wisdom be an everlasting light for the lost ones seeking their way home."

Marvin, younger brother of the twins, with Mommy Nic.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day.

Give your mother a call right now, if you want to tell her how much you love her or to reconcile with her from a fight. I am very sure, she is waiting for you right this moment, as you will always be that very special someone, irreplaceable by anyone under any situation, closest to her heart.
